WHAT IS A MEDICAL ILLUSTRATOR?

Medical illustrators are professional artists.  We have the anatomical knowledge and the creativity to produce persuasive anatomically accurate illustrations.  We provide color, BW, continuous tone, line, and other digital illustration services.  You provide some simple information and get a full color medical illustration for your presentation, publication, research, poster, etc.

WHAT KIND OF INFORMATION DO I NEED TO PROVIDE TO THE ILLUSTRATOR?

Please provide any reference material that would be helpful for the artist to complete the illustration.  MRI scans, X-rays, device info, and imaging all help.  A paragraph about who the audience is, the purpose of the illustration, and the key concepts are all helpful elements that will aid in the illustrator’s understanding of the project.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS OF STARTING A PROJECT WITH VISUALLY MEDICAL?

Visually Medical will take you for concept to completion.  A rough schedule may include the following:

  1. Signed contract
  2. Initial sketches
  3. Revision of sketches
  4. Semi-final illustrations
  5. Final revisions
  6. Final illustrations submitted

HOW FAST WILL I GET MY DRAWINGS?

It all depends on the complexity and number of illustrations.  generally please give us at least 2 weeks.  Rush services are available.

HOW MUCH WILL MY MEDICAL ILLUSTRATIONS COST?

Medical Illustration cost is project specific.  Black and White vs. Color, Simple vs. Complex, Style, Timeframe,  Usage Agreements, and Copyright Decisions are all factors that can affect the price of your project.

Sometimes our clients will chose to buy an illustration and purchase a complete copyright transfer.  Other times, we offer a limited time usage agreement which can last 1, 2, or 5 years.
